🛠️ Playing with Automation: My n8n Projects

So I’ve been messing around with this cool automation tool called n8n lately. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s like a Lego set for workflows—you can snap together different services and make them do stuff automatically. I first got into it thanks to Network Chuck’s YouTube video, and it totally pulled me in.

📰 Project #1: News Recap Bot

My first project was a simple but super useful one. I wanted a way to keep up with my favorite news sites without spending half my day scrolling. So I built a workflow that:

  • Grabs articles from the sites I like

  • Pulls out the title, author, and date

  • Sends me a neat little summary

Now I get a quick digest of what’s going on, and it’s way easier to stay informed. It’s like having my own personal news assistant.

📈 Project #2: Stock Trading Automation (Still Cooking)

The second project is a bit more intense. I’m working on automating stock trading using a template I found on the n8n website by Raz Hadas. It connects:

  • Alpaca for trading

  • Google Sheets for tracking

  • Some AI magic to help make decisions

It’s still a work in progress, but the idea is to have a system that watches the market and makes smart moves based on data. Pretty wild, right?

Why n8n Rocks

Here’s why I’m loving n8n:

  • It’s open-source and super flexible

  • You don’t need to be a coding wizard to use it

  • It connects with tons of apps and services

Whether you want to automate your morning routine or build something more complex, n8n makes it fun and doable.

If you’re into automation or just curious, give it a shot. And if you’ve built something cool with it, I’d love to hear about it!
